Homemade Chocolate

I've also been wanting to do homemade chocolate and it finally materialize. This is one simple and quick recipe. 200g of compound chocolate shall gives you around 30 small pieces of chocolate. Compound chocolate, cocoa butter and chocolate mold, you can find it all at any bakery supplier shop. I got mine at Yummie Bakery @ Bandar Baru Bangi.
Boleh lah bawak balik kampung during raya nanti.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

On Saturday, both of us went back to Seremban to berbuka with my mum and dad. I miss them so much! Was so happy to see Meena too. She is mengada-gada as usual :)
On Sunday, we left at noon, with hope to escape the weekend traffic at Lebuhraya Utara Selatan. It was blistering hot and I could not wait to reach home. Macam cacing kepanasan dalam kereta. Adoi!
We reached home at around 1PM, which leaves ample time for me to cook for berbuka and bake cookies. I don't know why, but Ramadhan gives me some motivation to cook for berbuka and sahur. But quite fair lah, since the day before, we bought all our food at Pasar Ramadhan Seremban 2.
So today I bake chocolate chip cookies. I ran out of chocolate chips, that was why cookie is full of chocolate rice.
Rasanye? Tatau lah sedap ke tak u ols. I will provide feedback on my next post. Recipe is from noreenhomecooking :)

Masak Lemak Cili Api (Recipe for Lilly)

My dad is from Negeri but I don't know how to cook the famous Masak Lemak Cili Api. So today, I took the effort to cook Masak Lemak Cili Api without anyone's help (except for the recipe book lor). Mum is out so this is a great chance to cook coz if she's in, nanti die pulak yang menyibuk buat sume. HAHA. Okay she is out so I am all on my own.
The must have in Masak Lemak Cili Api is of course the cili api. Kecik kecik cili api, but the hotness, my God! So, I blend the cili api with bawang merah and serai. That's all. Pour the blended cili api+bawang merah+serai into the santan (coconut milk) and chicken. And left for it to boil. Don't forget to keep on stirring.
Masa tengah kacau tu, I dah start panik sbb my Masak Lemak tak jadi colour hijau/kuning. I called my mum but she didn't pick up the phone, she is too busy listening to the ESQ lectures I guess. Cemas dan panik, lepastu terus teringat kan serbuk kunyit. Maybe sebab lupa letak serbuk kunyit kot, so I main letak aje serbuk kunyit. Dalam resipi tu suruh letak kunyit hidup. Tak jumpe pulak kunyit hidup, so I letak serbuk kunyit aje. And then baru letak the potatoes.
So that is how people cook Masak Lemak. And another additional turun temurun recipe from my granny is to add on asam keping, where as some people tak letak pon the asam keping tu.
I never eat my own cooking so I serve it all to dad as lauk for today's lunch.
Hihihi.

AYAM MASAK LEMAK

  • 1 ekor ayam dipotong 16
  • 10 biji bawang merah
  • 2 batang serai
  • 20 bili cili api
  • 2 helai daun kunyit
  • 2 cawan santan pekat
  • 2 biji ubi kentang (dipotong dadu)
  • Sedikit garam
Cara membuatnya :
1. Tuangkan bahan-bahan yang digiling ke dalam periuk, masukkan santan pekat, kacau perlahan-lahan sampai mendidih
2. Masukkan ayam, ubi kentang dan daun kunyit
3. Kacau sekejap dan masukkan garam
4. Biarkan sehingga pekat dan berminyak barulah angkat

Kuih Tart Nanas and Kuih Samperit

For kuih tart, I tried it both: the tart bunga and tart gulung, but it is still not as gebu as the commercial tart. The taste is acceptable anyway. I use plain pineapple jam for the topping. I really fancy those tarts with dark colored pineapple toppings on it. Is that pineapple and papaya altogether? Hmm, help needed in here!
You are most welcomed to share your recipe kuih tart yang gebu and the dark colored pineapple jam, if you happen to know any.
Kuih samperit is a O.K. Thanks to Aida for the resipi turun temurun :):)

Lasagne

I sing happily as I my lasagna tastes how like lasagna should be, at only one attempt. Hurrah! I used 8 pieces of lasagna and in between the lasagna sheets lays the tomato + minced meat sauce and bechamel sauce. This is also my first time cooking bechamel sauce@white sauce, which is the mother sauce of French cuisine. My bf loves it so much as it was served with extra cheese, just like how he likes it.

Hurrah to Sasa and Itak! They've been working hard in the kitchen during the weekend, producing these. Other than that, they've also baked chilled cheese cake and cooked prawn pasta. Four recipes in a day can you believe it? I know how Itak love baking and how Sasa adores Nigella Lawson so bet I am going to see more of these in future :)

Kek Batik

Yesterday, I made Kek Batik and it turned out really well. Here is the recipe, for you to try :)

Bahan-Bahan
200gm mentega
1 tin susu manis (tin kecil)
200gm milo 300gm biskut Marie (patah-patahkan)

Caranya
Cairkan mentega dalam periuk. Apabila semua mentega telah cair, masukkan susu sedikit demi sedikit sehingga habis satu tin sambil dikacau perlahan tanpa berhenti. Setelah mentega bercampur dengan susu masukkan milo sedikit demi sedikit. Kacau hingga semuanya sebati dan masukkan kacang. Tutup api dapur dan masukkan biskut marie. Gaul hingga rata semua biskut bersalut coklat.Jangan masak bahan tadi lebih dari 10 minit kerana coklat akan keras. Ratakan didalam loyang dan simpan didalam peti sejuk selama 1 1/2 jam sebelum dipotong mengikut suka.
